Mobile Free Mondays

Free to print, free to hand out

Print it, pin it, pass it on.

Posters, cards, codes, and a standing appointment for your calendar. They’re all free, and you don’t need to make the pledge to take them.

Put one up somewhere.

Pop a poster up (with consent) in a café, a library, a school corridor, or the back of a toilet door. If you're particularly proud, take a picture and tag us on Instagram @dead.good.club. We’d love to see it, and so would everybody else.

QR codes and the emblem

For sharing (any day but Monday)

  • A square Mobile Free Mondays share image: the emblem, ‘On Mondays, we ditch the phones.’ and an invitation to make the pledge

    Square image

For WhatsApp, Signal, a neighbourhood group, or a post. Sunday is a good day for it.

  • A tall, story-shaped Mobile Free Mondays share image with a 1967 telephone call, asking ‘Anyone fancy doing something on Monday?’

    Story image

    Vertical, for stories.

For the diary

On a phone? Copy the Google link and paste it into your browser (like Chrome or Safari), rather than letting the Google Calendar app open it.

And the tag

#MobileFreeMondays

I’m giving #MobileFreeMondays a go. The idea is simple: give your phone the whole of Monday off and make room for whatever else takes your fancy.

Fancy joining me? Have a look and make a personal commitment to try it: mobilefreemondays.com

On Mondays, we ditch the phones.

Adapt around any essential phone use. If a whole day isn’t possible, a few hours still counts.

The away message

A 1965 desk telephone with a torn note reading ‘Out to lunch, Fran’ taped across the dial: the away message, done with a pencil

Set your status or auto-reply to something like this, so people know you’re not ignoring them. Say when you’ll be back. A silence with a return time on it worries nobody.

I’m taking part in Mobile Free Mondays, so I’m not checking messages on my phone. I’ll reply when I’m at my laptop during my working hours, [start time]–[end time], [time zone]. For anything urgent, please use [agreed contact route].

It’s Mobile Free Monday, so my phone’s having the day off. I’ll reply on Tuesday. If it’s urgent, call twice.

On Mondays, we ditch the phones. Back on Tuesday.

Whichever you use, leave a way through for anybody who might need you urgently. For what to tell people before the day, see Give ‘em a heads up.

Printing notes

The posters are set at A2 and print happily at A3 or A4 on an office printer; a copy shop can do the full size. Each card and the flyer also comes as an A4 sheet with cut lines, so it prints on any printer at home or at work. The PNGs are for screens, newsletters, and anything that won’t take a PDF.

Print, copy and share them freely to introduce Mobile Free Mondays. Please don’t alter the artwork, sell it, or use it for a different campaign without asking us first.
